In 1996, in response to a customer request, Appleton Mfg. Division developed our patented IDC (Instant Diameter Change) cartridge that permits the operator to change diameters without changing out the mandrel.

IDC Meets the Need

The IDC system features a mandrel with a heavy duty drive to handle a specific range of diameters. The IDC base mandrel is built to the smallest diameter of each range. Lightweight Sleeves or End Plugs provide support for larger core diameters. The heart of the system is the patented IDC cartridge. This pre-assembled unit includes the head jaws, cone, springs and pad mounting cup. The components are optimally adjusted, requiring only that the operator slide the assembly onto the pull rod and pin it with the quick release pin.

Fits all Universal Models

The IDC mandrel system consists of a special base mandrel and appropriate IDC tooling. This system will fit existing S200 & S210 Semi-Automatics; A300, A301, A350, A360 & A400 Automatics, P500 and P510 Programmable Core Cutters (programmable cutters may require program changes). Note that an IDC base mandrel is required for the IDC cartridges.

1.875" ≈ 1.875" - 2.999" with diameter specific IDCs
3" ≈ 3.000" - 7.999" with diameter specific IDCs
6" ≈ 5.999" - 12.999" with diameter specific IDCs
6" HD ≈ 5.999" - 20.999" with diameter specific IDCs
