Appleton Mfg Division offers this extensive family of core cutters, in addition to custom equipment, to provide you with equipment matched to your needs and budget. All Appleton core cutters have been job-proven in daily production. Each model has unique features to address differences in core quantity, scheduling or handling requirements.

Appleton Mfg. Div. Line of Core Cutters

The S210 is an economic answer to low volume core cutting. The operator slides the core to an adjustable target and steps on a foot switch to initiate the air powered cutting cycle. The core is quickly cut and discharged, allowing the operator to advance for another length. Cut quality and tolerance is unsurpassed by any other unit in the market.

The A301 offers basic automation. It is manually loaded, with powered core feed and an air powered fixed knife. The operator loads the core, sets the target for cut length and presses a button to initiate cutting. The core advance and cut cycle continues until the parent core is consumed - at which time the operator loads another parent core. When the operator input number of cuts is reached, the current parent is consumed and the cutter stops.

The A400 is our highest-speed automatic cutter. It is manually loaded, with hydraulic powered core feed and fixed knife. The operator loads the core, sets the target for cut length and presses a button to initiate cutting. The core advance and cut cycle continues until the parent core is consumed - at which time the operator loads another parent core. When the operator input number of cuts is reached, the current parent is consumed and the cutter stops.

The A400P offers all the fiber core cutting capabilities of Appleton's A400 with the added ability to cut a wide variety of plastic cores. Like the A400, the A400P can be loaded either manually or automatically, and utilizes a hydraulic-powered core feed and cutoff. Operators simply load the parent core, set the cut length, select fiber or plastic cores, and press start to initiate automated cutting. When the desired number of cuts is reached, or the current parent core is consumed, the cutter automatically stops.

The A400T is a variation of the A400 Automatic Core Cutter developed specifically to cut a variety of tape products on cores. The A400T is typically used in environments where stocked tape logs are re-cut to specific widths on an order by order basis. The operator loads the log, sets the quantity to be cut per log and the total number required, the cutting mode, and the length needed. When the total count is reached the cutter stops.

The MDHS was created for core users and manufacturers requiring high speed production with an ability to economically change core diameters quickly. The cutting rates are unsurpassed by any single or dual knife cutter in the market. The networked controls permit data acquisition and dial-up diagnostics. This is a high volume cutter designed for use with automated core handling.

The P510 is essentially a P500 with an Allen-Bradley SLC500 PLC as the control package.

The P610 is designed for users with a large variety of diameters, very large diameters, or very long cores. It can handle 3" ID to 24" ID cores and is available in lengths to 30 foot. The simple operator interface and PLC control package can be integrated with handling and finishing equipment that automates core handling from unloading the parent core carts to loading cut core carts.
